Mailing Lists

The following majordomo mailing lists can be used to reach all RCN participants as well as participants of each interest group. Clicking on the links below will open a draft email in your email program of choice.

NOTE: If you receive a message via one of these lists, a standard “reply” will send your message to the whole list. If you want to reply only to the sender, you will have to manually change the address to that of the sender in composing the reply.

Who’s on the List?

Majordomo allows you to view who is subscribed to a list, as long as you are a list member. To see all list members, email a command to majordomo@bu.edu, and the major will reply with a list. The generic format for the command is:

who <listname> <password>

For example, the body of an email to see members of the entire tlsrcn-list would contain the single line:

who tlsrcn-list BU2015tlsrcn

There are several caveats to using this:

  1. The email must be formatted in plain text format with no signature at the end. You will likely be required to manually switch from html or rich text to plain text format.
  1. Anything in the subject line will be ignored but passed through to majordomo’s reply, which is useful for keeping track of majordomo requests and responses.
  1. You must be a member of the list you are attempting to see.
  1. The password BU2015tlsrcn is required. PLEASE DO NOT SHARE THIS PASSWORD.

The command must be in the body of the message. Remember, plain text format, include the list name and password.

Additions and Errors

The lists are owned and maintained by Tim Condon, condontd@bu.edu. To add an omitted participant, contact Tim. He will also handle any questions or problems.

If you receive an error message, perhaps from an email address that is no longer valid, please pass it on to Tim. He will also receive any error messages, but it will help to know how and when they were generated.

Individual Email Addresses

If you are simply looking for an email address of a participant or two, go to the Participant List page, which has a searchable table with email addresses and other information about participants. For Interest Group Conveners, the “Interest Groups” page shows the latest membership of each group.
